Plac Grunwaldzki jest jednym z największych placów Wrocławia–jest to ważny węzeł komunikacyjny i handlowy, oraz częste miejsce spotkań. Powstał w tragicznych okolicznościach, podczas oblężenia Festung Breslau w 1945r. Charakterystycznymi punktami są rozpoczynający go od zachodu Most Grunwaldzki, wysokościowce nazywane „sedesowcami” oraz akademiki „Ołówek” i „Kredka”.
