Créé par Napoléon III en 1870, cet ancien site militaire était utilisé comme terrain d’entraînement au tir par l’armée, jusqu’à la guerre d’Algérie. Déserté jusqu’en 1971, il a ensuite été occupé par la météorologie jusqu’en 1982, pour des lancers de ballon sondes. En 1999, la commune de Plouisy récupère le site et le transforme en un espace naturel protégé de 13 Ha, abritant une grande diversité de faune et de flore. Created by Napoleon III in 1870, this former military site was used as a shooting training ground by the army until the Algerian war. Deserted until 1971, it was then occupied by meteorology until 1982, for weather balloon launches. In 1999, the municipality of Plouisy recovered the site and transformed it into a protected natural area of 13 Ha, sheltering a great diversity of fauna and flora.
