Dining and Drinking in Yuma’s Old Town

By Kctrumpet & Red Buggy Man You won’t go hungry or be thirsty for long in Yuma’s historic Old Town. Everywhere you look, as you stroll down the shaded sidewalks of Main Street, you will see quirky taverns and eateries, each providing its own variety of fun foods and drinks. Here are a few facts about this area: During the 1849 gold rush, Main Street was named the “Gila Trail,” and the town was called “Colorado City.” After a flood in 1862, the town’s name was changed to “Arizona City.” The town became “Yuma” in 1873. Main Street was paved in the 1920s and most of the buildings you see here date from that time. Enjoy this little tour of some of the establishments here in Old Town Yuma.
