Welcome to historic Salem Willows! Here you will find 35 acres of oceanfront parkland, 2 small beaches, great boardwalk food, an historic carousel, 2 arcades, old time gazebos, picnic tables, benches, cool breezes. great popcorn, and inspiring views. I've loved this spot since I was a child in the 1960's, and it hasn't changed all that much since then. It hasn't changed all that much since the 1880's. The best time to visit is in the Summer months, when everything is open. Even when it is a hot day in downtown Salem, out at the Willows there is nearly always a comfortable breeze. But this Lab also works very well off-season, and parking is much easier. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes of easy walking to complete the Lab. But the wise Geocacher will leave time to grab some tasty food, play pinball, ride the carousel, enjoy the best popcorn ever, and see the sights. I'm going to take you to the most interesting spots, while adding some local knowledge and history. Enjoy!
