The Hamlet of Cordova Mines

Welcome to Cordova Mines! Today, the area is a small hamlet in the Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township. But in the late 1800's and early 1900's, Cordova Mines was a busy mining town! As the story goes, Cordova Mines began in the 1860s when Marcus Powell - a local prospector - discovered a cave where gold appeared to be gleaming from the walls! A gold boom followed, with over 20,000 ounces of gold were produced from the Cordova Gold Mine in over 50 years of mining ventures. While completing this Adventure Lab, cellular data may not be reliable depending on your service provider, however free Wifi internet is available at the Cordova Mines Library (aka Community Centre) and the General Store. You may log all of the Adventure Lab stages while connected to either internet source! (The stages have a sufficiently large geofence.) Please feel free to confirm the Library hours at their website: https://hbmlibrary.on.ca/ or call the General Store to confirm their open hours: (705)-778-3815
