Welcome to the Carnivore Coexistence Action Team's latest adventure! Thanks to input from the Seattle Urban Carnivore Project (Woodland Park Zoo & Seattle University) and the Issaquah Highlands Council, this 12-stop adventure will take you on an exciting path of discovery! Encountering wildlife can be thrilling! Yet, sometimes it can be concerning, such as unexpected encounters with carnivores like black bears, bobcats, coyotes, cougars, or raccoons. Often when we cross paths with carnivores in urban settings, they are seeking resources they need to survive (i.e. shelter, food, water) or are just passing through and not intent on interacting with us. So, what should you do when you meet a coyote on the sidewalk or spot a bobcat on your fence? This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum & Library Services.
