Part of the Erie Canal Adventure Lab Trail. Fonda was settled by the Dutch around 1750 and is named after the Douw Fonda family. It was originally called Caughnawaga until about 1836. Like all towns in the Mohawk Valley it has a long and storied history. This Adventure Lab will take you to several historic locations throughout the town. The locations may be visited in any order.
