Christianity in Bucharest

Romania is a secular state and it is the most religious country out of 34 European states. The Romanian state officially recognizes 18 religions and denominations. The majority of the country's citizens are Orthodox Christians. Other Christian denominations include the Catholic Church, Calvinism and Pentecostal denominations. This amounts to approximately 92% of the population identifying as Christian. In Bucharest, the capital and the largest city of Romania, there are many christian churches with an interesting history and an exquisite architecture. I invite you to visit 5 of them in the center of the town, each one unique in it’s way, showcasing various facets of Christianity. Enjoy!
