Ontario’s South Coast is home to outstanding wineries that are open or tastings, tours and exciting events. Follow the South Coast Wines Toast the Coast Trail from Simcoe in the east to St. Thomas in the west and sample the regions distinctive wines, wander the vineyards and indulge in the splendor of fine food and wine pairings. Known for it’s strong agricultural roots, Norfolk County has certainly owned the nickname, “Ontario’s Garden.” The combination of a mild climate, long growing season, and some of the most fertile land in all of Ontario allow farmers to grow a variety of crops. What was once known as the heart of tobacco country has become one of Ontario’s emerging wine regions.
